Marking the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina a mass vaccination against coronavirus was launched across the country on September 28.
On that day the first dose of the vaccine was given to people and on Thursday (October 28), the second dose was given to those people that received the first dose on PM’s birthday.
On the occasion, 1 lakh 72 thousand 900 people received the second dose of Sinopharm vaccine in three municipalities and 109 unions under the 12 upazilas of Bogura. The campaign continued from 9 am until the vaccines ran out.
According to the Bogura District Civil Surgeon's Office, vaccination activities continued from 9 am until the target was met. Those who took the first dose received the second dose on Thursday.
On the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday, the first dose of vaccine was given in Bogura on September 28. 1,500 doses were given to each of the 109 unions and 500 doses to each of the 21 wards of Bogura Municipality, 500 doses to each of the three wards of Sherpur Municipality and three wards of Santahar Municipality.
As such, under the special programme, 1 lakh 73 thousand doses at 16 permanent booths in the district remained the same as before. The second dose of vaccine was given in the same way, sources added.
In the morning, queues of women and men were seen walking around different centers of the city.
