8th Asian Tourism Fair starts today

The 8th Asian Tourism Fair 2019 will start from today. The three days fair is going to take place from September 26-28 at International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital.

The fair is being organised by Parjatan Bichitra, supported by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, BIMSTIC Secretariat, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) and Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB). 

Civil Aviation and Tourism State Minister Mahbub Ali will inaugurate the event as the Chief Guest while secretary Md Mohibul Haque and M. Shahidul Islam, Secretary General, BIMSTEC Secretariat will be present on the occasion as the Special Guests, among others.

In a recent press conference while talking about fair preparation Mohiuddin Helal, Chairman of the event’s organising committee and editor of Parjatan Bichitra said, “Around 150 exhibitors including 50 foreign exhibitors from eight countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, China, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand will participate in the fair. A good number of packages at a discounted price with attractive offers like air tickets, cruising, hotel booking and package tours will be available at the fair”. 

Md. Abdus Samad, Director, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) , Dr Damaru Ballabha Paudel, Director, BIMSTEC, Alexander Haeusler, General Manager, Radisson BLU Dhaka Water Garden and Mohammed Salauddin, General Manager, Marketing and Sales, Biman Bangladesh Airlines were present on the occasion, among others.

Other important attractive sideline events are tourism seminars to be organised by BIMSTEC Secretariat and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, children art competition on ‘My City’. There will also be Business to Business (B2B) meetings.

The first day of the fair will see cultural performances by cultural troupes from Bangladesh, Philippines and Indonesia subsequently. The main objective of this fair is to connect regional tourism with sustainability and demonstrate a complete scenario of the tourism industry of Bangladesh.

At the fair, the Airline Sponsor Biman Bangladesh Airlines will offer special discounted tickets on spot reservation basis. 

The Silver Sponsor Radisson BLU Dhaka Water Garden will bring special offers for travellers in the city. 

The Cruise Partner Dhaka Dinner Cruise will offer Buy One Get One trip on Daily River Cruise packages.

The Entertainment Partner Fantasy Kingdom will offer 50 per cent discount on its entry tickets and Transport Partner Convoy Services is to offer discounted transport packages within Bangladesh.

Other partners, ISP partner BOL and Telecom Partner Banglalink will also offer free entry tickets among its subscribers through SMS campaign.

The entry fee for the fair is Tk 20, students will get free entry to the event on the basis of online registration.

The raffle draw gift voucher partners are Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Hotel Radisson BLU, Dhaka Dinner Cruise, Hotel Cox’s Today, Sea Gall Hotels, Sarah resort, Royal Tulip Hotels, Blue Marin Resort, Baztrade limited, Vision Travel Consultant, Hotel X, Trip Makers and Arunima Resort.
