Bangladesh is expecting to get 6 million doses of Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19 in September.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque made the announcement on Monday.
The Pfizer vaccine has to be stored at minus 70 degrees Celsius temperature.
The government has intensified its nationwide vaccination drive recently.
Over 15 million people received at least one dose of a vaccine against Covid-19.
The government approved Oxford/AstraZeneca, the Pfizer mRNA, Moderna, and Sinopharm vaccines, among others, to be used for emergency purposes in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh earlier on May 31 received over 100,000 Pfizer vaccines through Covax, a WHO-led initiative to ensure equitable distribution of coronavirus vaccination.
