6 Covid deaths in 24 hours

Bangladesh registered six more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Sunday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,868 with the latest figure.

The country recorded 211 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,569,539, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.

For the latest data, the current positivity rate stands 1.22 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 15.16 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.78 percent in the country, added the release.

Among the six deceased, two were men and four were women. Of the deceased, three were from Dhaka, two from Chattogram and one was from Khulna division.  

A total of 17,226 samples were tested across the country till 8am Sunday. 

Some 276 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,533,423 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.69 percent.

As of Sunday, 5,012,930 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 247,249,748 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
