International provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet ZTE Corporation has figured out 5G networking in four basic operations of arithmetic. According to ZTE’s President Xu Ziyang, who uses the four basic operations of arithmetic - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to figure out the best way to build a 5G network, ‘Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are four arithmetic operations. However, to create an ideal 5G network, the order in which they are applied changes to subtraction, addition, division, and multiplication.’

In the aspect of 5G networking, subtraction focuses on the elimination of redundant structure to simplify the network. First, subtraction means unifying the network control layer by means of Core/BBU cloud integration, micro-service, software, and hardware decoupling and other technologies, making logic functions combinable. Moreover, subtraction also involves simplifying the hardware equipment for access layer through multi-mode base stations, spectrum sharing, minimalist sites, and other means to make hardware capabilities shareable.

Addition refers to the improvement of network intelligence, that is, to enhance the critical features of the network, such as AI and MEC. AI supports the contactless operation and maintenance, as well as more efficient network self-optimization while MEC allows the service sites to be faster, more reliable, more secure, and closer to users.

Division is to enable network multiplexity, with network slicing as the core technology. By virtualizing a physical network and dividing it into several virtual networks, the network is enabled to serve multiple vertical customers simultaneously, thereby reducing the cost of building, operating and maintaining the network.

Finally, multiplication refers to the cross-border cooperation and application, that is, applying 5G to vertical industries, such as 5G control, 5G UAV, vehicle-to-network communication, AR and VR, triggering the business model revolution in these vertical industries. ‘With the strong demand for 5G-based applications, coupled with the change in the business model of how 5G practitioners will cooperate, we have worked with our partners to explore a large number of 5G-based industry applications, promoting the development of cross-industry integration, advocating for the implementation of intelligent ports, intelligent industry, intelligent security and other industry applications while working together with partners to create a healthy and comprehensive industry-wide ecosystem,’ added Mr. Xu Zi Yang.

Pang Wei, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of ZTE Bangladesh said, ‘We are very ambitious to reach our goal in 5G technology expansion. We have doubled our investment in research & development. We are working rigorously to explore innovation in this sector. We have been working in Bangladesh for a very long time and we are ready to implement the results of our hard work, research, and innovation for the development of Bangladesh 5G ecosystem.’

As a firm practitioner of 5G technology, ZTE has created an end-to-end 5G commercial solution and worked with more than 100 customers to explore new 5G models through intensive R&D investment and a continuous focus on core technologies.
