More than 300 Japanese nationals stranded in Bangladesh due to COVID-19 pandemic are set to leave Dhaka for Tokyo by a special chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh airlines on Thursday, reports BSS

The Biman’s Boeing 777 aircraft carrying the Japanese citizens will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 10 am on Thursday for Narita Airport of Japan, Biman’s Managing Director and CEO Md Mokabbir Hossain told newsmen over social media on Wednesday.

The Japanese Embassy in Dhaka chartered the flight of the Biman through the Bangladesh government, the airlines sources said. On Monday, 269 US citizens left here by a special chartered flight of the Qatar airways while earlier 225 Malaysians and 139 Bhutanese citizens also left here through chartered flights on their personal choice amid the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

Governments across the world have been arranging chartered flights to take back their nationals from different countries as regular air connectivity is almost suspended round the globe due to the outbreak of the killer bugs.
