A large number of visitors thronged at the 2nd edition of Bangladesh International Marine and Offshore Expo 2019 (BIMOX) at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Friday, the second day of the expo. The international exhibition on ship building, repairs, maritime engineering, offshore engineering and technology, recycling, offshore oil and gas support, and fishing vessels began on Thursday.
The three-day expo is scheduled to conclude today (Saturday) which is jointly organized by Savor International Limited and Fireworks Trade Media Group, Singapore. The purpose of the exposition is to demonstrate new and innovative technologies, materials, equipment, methods etc. in sectors concerned and explore the avenue for the participants, organizations and patrons in a single platform.
Commodore Syed Ariful Islam, director general of the Department of Shipping, ATM Azizul Akil David, senior vice president of BCCCI and Abdullahel Bari, president of the Association of Export Oriented Shipbuilding Industries of Bangladesh, among others, were present at the inauguration ceremony held on Thursday.
In this exhibition, companies from 14 countries including Bangladesh are showcasing their products, technologies and services in more than 160 booths. A large number of visitors were found experiencing the exhibition.
