A total of 20 intending candidates today collected application forms to get Awami League tickets to vie in the by-election to five parliamentary seats, reports BSS.
The Election Commission recently announced the schedule for by-polls to Dhaka-10, Bagura-1, Bagerhat-4, Jashore-6 and Gaibandha-3 seats. The AL started distribution of application forms this morning at AL president’s Dhanmondi political office here. The form distribution and submission will continue till February 14 between 11am to 5pm every day.
On February 15, interviews of the intending candidates will be held at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official Ganabhaban residence in the evening. Besides, application form distribution and submission for Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) polls also began today and it will continue till February 14.
Four persons collected forms for mayoral post while 94 for councilor posts. The price of nomination forms for MP post is Taka 30,000, mayoral post Taka 25,000 and councilor Post Taka 10,000.
