Some eleven officials of RAB-5, who were involved in the arrest and interrogation of Sultana Jasmin, have been withdrawn from the battalion's Joypurhat camp as well as from field duties.
The officials, including a major and an assistant superintendent of police, were attached to the battalion headquarters in Rajshahi.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the legal and media wing of RAB, confirmed it to media.
A team of the RAB Headquarters’ internal investigation cell is now in Rajshahi to investigate Sultana’s death, he said.
“The investigating cell is interrogating the officials involved with the incident. During the investigation, they may talk to the officials again and discuss. For this reason, the officials were brought to the battalion headquarters from the Joypurhat camp,” he added.
