Police recovered the body of a youth at Uposhoro area in Sylhet city on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ifzal Hossain, son of Kutub Ali of Kaptanpur village under Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet. He was an Honours second year student of Sylhet MC College.
Ifzal used to live with his family at house No. 3 on Road No. 18 of Block B at Uposhor in Sylhet city. He slept with family members on Wednesday night. Family members searched the house on Thursday morning, when they couldn’t find him.
At one point, they went outside seeing the back door of the house open and saw the dead body lying there. Neighbors heard their cries and informed the police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahparan Police Station Abdul Qayyum confirmed the matter. He said that they recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy. They are investigating the matter, said the OC.
After the post mortem, the body was handed over to the family members. He was buried at his village. However, relatives of Ifzal said that njury marks were found at body of the youth.
They demanded arrest and exemplary punishment of killers.
Some other locals said that Ifzal was killed in a planned way. They demanded investigation of the incident.
