A young motorcyclist died after hitting a speed breaker on Bypass Road in Devnagar area of Satkhira town on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rajan Mohan Das, 25, son of Prabhas Das, a teacher of Kumira Pilot Girls' School in Kumira area of Patkelghata Police Station.
A witness named Gafur said the young man was going towards the medical college through the Bypass Road, driving a Yamaha Fazer motorcycle, around 10:30am. On the way, he hit the speed breaker in Devnagar area of the road, fell off the motorbike and hit an electric pole. He died on the spot. Later, local people recovered his body and sent it to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC, investigation) of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, said the police have been sent to the spot. The body of the deceased is being prepared for postmortem.
