A youth of Basupara village under Bagmara upazila was killed by his step brothers following a futile altercation on Monday night. The victim was identified as Nazidul Islam (28) son of Asgar Ali of Basupara village.
OC of Bagmara thana Ataur Rahman informed on Monday morning younger brother Makidul and his elder, step brother Nazidul locked into an altercation on a futile issue which turned into a physical assault but was soon settled by their neighbours. Later, Makidul along with his two brothers again attacked on Nazidul and stabbed him with sharp weapons killing Nazidul. on the spot. After the death of Nazidul, Makidul and his brothers managed to escape.
Police recovered the dead body the same night and sent it to the morgue of RMCH for autopsy on Tuesday morning. A muder case has been filed accusing five brothers of Makidul in this connection. None of the attackers of Nazidul has so far been arrested.
