Cyber tribunal Judge Ziaur Rahman pronounced the verdict of the case against Mozaffar Hossain alias Rony (27) son of Badsha Mia of Dandapal village under Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district.

For another charge, the tribunal also sentenced the convict to four years of rigorous imprisonment and a  fine of Tk. three lakh, in default,  to serve an additional three-month in jail, under the Sections 24(2) of the DSA. Both the punishments will be served simultaneously, informed Ismat Ara Begum.

She said that Mozaffar cheated and realised Tk. 30 lakh from various job seekers assuring them of giving a job in the army.

Being informed, members of Rapid Action Battalion held him from Nayatola Moghbazar area under Motijheel Police Station in the capital on 6 January in 2020 and recovered three mobile phones used for the digital fraud.
