A young man named Jewel Hossain (20) died after being electrocuted while removing electrical equipment of a decorator at Durga Puja Mandap in Nandigram, Bogra. The deceased Jewel Hossain is the son of Abdul Jalil, the proprietor of Jolly Decorator in Ranbagha Bazar.
The incident took place at Ranbagha Bazar Durga Puja Mandap in Nandigram Sadar Union around 8:30 pm on Monday.
It is learned that lighting was done by Jolly Decorator in Ranbagha Bazar Puja Mandap. Jewel Hossain was removing electrical equipment after the idol was abandoned on Monday evening. Jewel Hossain was electrocuted and seriously injured. He was rescued and admitted to Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Jewel Hossain died at 9:30 pm while undergoing treatment there. Nandigram Sadar UP Chairman Lecturer Abdul Bari confirmed this.
