A 19-year-old youth, Moksed Ali, died after being bitten by a venomous snake while on his way to harvest jute with his father in Ranisankail upazila’s Arazi Chandan Chahot area on Friday.
Moksed Ali, son of Hamidul Islam of Nekmarad Union, was walking along a village path when the snake bit him. He quickly fell ill and family members rushed him to the Thakurgaon 250-bed General Hospital. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Confirming the incident, Union Parishad member Nuruzzaman said that Moksed Ali had accompanied his father to the fields when the tragic event occurred. Despite efforts to get him medical attention, Moksed Ali succumbed to the venom on the way.
