A young man named Sajib Mia (29) committed suicide by hanging himself in Sarail Upazila of Brahmanbaria.
On Friday evening, he committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house in Paschim Kuttapara village of Sadar Union of the upazila. The deceased is the son of late freedom fighter Monir Mia of West Kuttapara village of Sadar Union of Sajib Upazila.
According to local residents and police sources, in the evening, as the door of the house was closed from inside, the family members broke the door and found Sajeev hanging.
It is known in the family that Sajeev was suffering from mental illness for a long time. After informing the police, his body was recovered from the spot. Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Emranul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that Sajeeb committed suicide by hanging himself.
A case has been filed in this regard. The body was handed over to the family as there was no complaint.
