Police arrested a young man named Arafatul Islam with 25 types of medicines at Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital.
He was arrested in front of the hospital's operation theatre in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Chattogram Medical Hospital police outpost in-charge Nur Ullah Ashek said that a based on secret information, a man was arrested with a bag full of medicine in front of the operation theatre of the hospital. At this time, 25 types of drugs are available to him. During the initial interrogation, he said that the operation theatre staff had sold these drugs to him.
He said, these drugs are mainly recovered from patients, which are stolen by hospital staff in various ways. Earlier also 8 members of drug thieves gang were arrested.
Director of Chattogram Medical College Hospital, Brigadier General Shamim Ahsan, said that one person was arrested with medicines early in the morning. Several drugs were found with him.
A case has been filed against him. Hospital authorities are strict about drug theft. Our operation will continue to catch the members of these gangs.
