RAB-7 has arrested a youth from WASA in Chattogram with weapons made of indigenous technology. He was arrested along with a one-shooter gun during a raid in Wasa area of Chandgaon police station in the city on Tuesday. Young man is involved in Chattogram Chhatra League politics.
The arrested youth is Syed Tanveer Mehdi Masud (28). He is the son of Syed Mohammad Musa of Chowkbazar Thana area.
RAB-7 senior assistant director Md. Nurul Abshar confirmed the matter on Thursday.
He said that RAB searched the private car after receiving information that it was coming towards the city from Kalurghat area with a large consignment of drugs.
Meanwhile, Syed Tanvir Mehdi Masud was arrested with a domestically made one-shooter gun from inside a plastic bag under the front seat of the car. Masud has been using the recovered weapon to spread various terrorist activities and local influence in the area. He said that he has been sent to the concerned police station to take further legal action
