Year-long campaign launched to save aquatic biodiversity of Cox’s Bazar

Under the slogan 'Protect aquatic biodiversity, ensure sustainable aquatic ecosystem management', awareness activities have been launched to protect aquatic biodiversity including dolphins and turtles among fishermen and locals across the coast of Cox's Bazar from Kutubdia Island to Sent Martin's Island. 

The program started from Nuniyachhara in Cox's Bazar town on September 2. Cox's Bazar Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraful Afsar inaugurated the year-long program.

Divisional Forest Officer Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila Fisheries Officer Tarapad Chauhan, Deputy Director of Environment Department Cox's Bazar Sheikh Mohammad Nazmul Huda, Cox's Bazar Municipality Penel Mayor Shahna altar pahki ,Md. Mizanur Rahman, Nature and Life Foundation Cox's Bazar Advisor Sarwar Azam Manik, Environmentalist H,M Nazrul Islam, District Boat Owners Association Organizing Secretary Mostaq Ahmed, Cox's Bazar District BCL Deputy Secretary Md. Moin Uddin and others were present.

Rashedul Majid, CEO of Environment People said, “From today, the beloved comrades of 'Environment People' will be working to create awareness among fishermen and coastal residents from Kutubdia Island to St. Martin's Island throughout the year.”
