The writ petition has been filed against the persons concerned including the Chief Election Commissioner. Deputy Attorney General Amit Das Gupta confirmed the matter to media.

It was known that Mokhlesur Rahman wrote a letter to the Speaker on July 25 stating that there were discrepancies in the educational qualifications of MP Hasan Imam Khan in his affidavit. He requested that the matter be referred to the Election Commission (EC) for resolution.

However, since that was not the case, Mokhlesur Rahman has filed the writ petition with the High Court disposing of the letter. In the writ petition, Hasan Iman Khan has been asked to resign from the post of Member of Parliament for giving false information in the election affidavit.
