With the theme of improving the white stick for the progress of visually impaired persons, World White Stick Day was celebrated in Joypurhat on Saturday.
To mark the day a discussion meeting was held at Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner’s conference room. Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner Shariful Islam spoke as chief guest at the discussion meeting.
Among others, the meeting was addressed by Sadar Upazila Chairman and district Awami League General Secretary SM Solomon Ali, President of Joypurhat Press Club Advocate Nripendranath Mondal, Joypurhat public prosecutor PP, assistant commissioner Monabbar Hossain, GS of Joypurhat Press Club KM Abdur Rahman Rone.
Digital white-Sticks were distributed among visually impaired persons at the end of the meeting.
