World Tiger Day was recently observed in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat with a range of awareness activities under the theme “Increase in Tiger Population, Prosperity of the Sundarbans.”
Over one hundred students from five schools near the Sundarbans took part in a painting competition, rally, and discussion held at Sundarban Secondary School.
Rana Dev, Assistant Conservator of Forests of the Sharankhola Range, attended as chief guest, while Headteacher Md Asaduzzaman was the special guest.
Forest department staff, local residents, Village Tiger Response Team members, and the Community Patrolling Team also participated.
