The World Press Photo Foundation, founded in 1955, continues to serve as a vital platform for photojournalists and documentary photographers, fostering global connections through powerful storytelling. Similarly, Drik Picture Library remains dedicated to challenging social inequality and amplifying marginalized voices through art and media.

The Asia regional winners of the World Press Photo Contest 2024 are proof that photojournalism and documentary photography continue to play a vital role in shaping our understanding of the world, and in holding those in power accountable. The stories selected by the regional juries this year include powerful images of war, loss, perseverance, courage, love, family, and more. These stories represent our shared humanity and the struggles and triumphs we all experience.

As the world continues to face unprecedented challenges, the work of photojournalists and documentary photographers is more important than ever. These photographers risk their lives to bring us stories from around the world, and their work inspires us to take action and make a difference. The regional winners of the World Press Photo Contest 2024 are a testament to the power of visual storytelling and the impact it can have on our world.
