Health Day 2025 through various programs organized by the university’s One Health Institute. The theme for this year was “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures.”

CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman led a colorful procession on the university campus on Sunday afternoon. Teachers, officials, students and employees participated in the procession. After the rally, the One Health theme song was launched, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony and the closing program at the administrative building premises.

Earlier, several week-long events were organized to mark the day, including basic computer training, a One Health quiz competition, a themed drawing competition for children, and free health check-ups and pet vaccinations.

CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. The program, presided over by One Health Institute Director Professor Dr. Md. Ahsanul Haque, was also attended by CVASU Director (External Activities) Professor Dr. AKM Saifuddin and Director (Student Welfare) Professor Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Alam. The welcome address was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Rumana Rashid of the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical Infectious Diseases.

Addressing the event, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman said, “We want to build a healthy, strong and beautiful Bangladesh for future generations. Just as our ancestors worked for this, we are also working toward the same goal. We want our next generations to inherit a healthy Bangladesh. But we have many challenges ahead, one of which is climate change. Climate change is adversely affecting our environment and increasing diseases. So, we must all focus on how to mitigate and adapt to climate change. We need to work together, shoulder to shoulder, to ensure a healthier and more hygienic Bangladesh in the future.”

In her speech, Dr. Rumana Rashid said, “We are all working under different banners — health, human, and environmental. But the time has come for us to work together. Only by uniting under the One Health approach can we address the challenges we face today, starting with antimicrobial resistance.”

Deans of various faculties, institute directors, registrars, department heads, hall provosts, officials, teachers, students, and employees of CVASU were present at the World One Health Day 2025 programs.
