World Milk Day observed in 3 dists

The World Milk Day-2024 was observed in Chuadanga on Saturday in a befitting matter.

A colorful procession was brought out and a discussion was held marking the day in the district.

The procession was brought out from Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner's office and paraded various roads of the town. The discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Director of Chuadanga Artificial Reproduction Center AHM Shamimuzzaman.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mizanur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the discussion. Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Riazul Islam was present there as a special guest.

Dr Mostafizur Rahman, Acting District Livestock Officer gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the discussion. The chief guest said we have to try hard to meet the demand of milk as it is an ideal food. It is our responsibility to ensure that everyone can buy milk.

Our Rajbari Correspondent reports-World Milk Day was observed with a colorful program with the slogan ‘Milk is essential for global nutrition’ in Rajbari on Saturday.

A procession was brought out from District Livestock Office premises at 12:00am and it paraded several areas of Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway.

Later, a discussion was held on this occasion. District Livestock Officer Dr Prakash Ranjan presided over it. Deputy Commissioner Abu Kaiser Khan attended the meeting as the chief guest.  

Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Titon, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Khair Uddin and others were also present.  Speakers said Rajbari is well-known for adequate milk production. District and upazila level government officials, teachers, journalists and dairy farmers also attended the meeting.    

Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of essay and quiz competition

In Magura:The World Milk Day-2024 was observed in the district on Saturday in a befitting manner, reports BSS.

In 2001, World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of United Nations announced June 1 as World Milk Day. World Milk Day is celebrated to recognise the importance of milk as a global food and to celebrate the dairy sector.

This year, World Milk Day was celebrated with the theme of focusing on celebrating the vital role dairy plays in delivering quality nutrition to nourish the world.

Marking the day, a colorful rally was brought out from in front of the district livestock office which paraded the important streets and ended coming at the same place in the morning.

After the rally, a discussion was held in the hall room of the district livestock office in the morning.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abu Naser Beg addressed the function as the chief guest with district livestock officer Dr. Mihir Kanti Biswas in the chair.

Police Inspector Mobasher Ali, district and upazila livestock officers, among others, were present.

The speakers said that milk is an ideal food to fulfill nutritional needs. 

It is also one of the sources of safe nutrition. Apart from making people aware about the nutritional value of milk, the speakers also called upon the farmers to produce better quality milk and enrich the dairy industry.
