Awami League joint general secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister DrHasan Mahmud has said that Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina has gone to the United Nations at the special invitation of world leaders.
“The world leaders want to hear from the Prime Minister about her global role, the way she has led Bangladesh and taken the country to the third-highest growth rate in the world by maintaining economic growth even during Corona period,” he said.
The minister made the statement while speaking virtually as the chief guest atEnayetpur Thana Awami League's tri-annual conference in Sirajganj from his official residence in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon in responseto a question from reporters about BNP's recent remarks regarding Prime Minister's participation in the UN General Assembly.
DrHasan said, “BNP is criticizing as they are not being able to tolerate the praise of world leaders at the development of the country. Rizvi Ahmed should have known that most of the traveling companions of Prime Ministerhas gone at their own expense.”
Speaking at the conference earlier, the minister said that the way each of them are speaking, the result of the BNP's series of meetings seemed to be zero.
The isolated BNP did not find any direction in the series of meetings, but they are involved in conspiracies, said Hasan Mahmud.
Enayetpur Thana Awami League President MdBazlur Rashid presided over the conference.
Awami League Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Health and Family Welfare Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, Central Committee Member Nurul Islam, Abdul Awal Shamim also spoke during the event.
