On the occasion of World Food Day-2021 a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner on Saturday afternoon.
The theme of the day was “Our actions are our future – Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a betrer life”.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Lakshmipur Nur E Alam as the chief guest attended the discussion, organised by Lakshmipur district administration.
The discussion was presided over by Deputy Director of Lakshmipur Department of Agricultural Extension, Dr Zakir Hossain and conducted by Food Controller Mankhyai.
Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Hasan Imam, Agricultural Extension Officer Arjan Chandra Roy, District Agriculture Diploma Association President Abul Hossain, various Assistant Agriculture Officers and marginal farmers attended the discussion.
The speakers at the time highlighted the success of the farmers in the producing various fruits and fish including potato, paddy, vegetables, mango, jackfruit, pineapple, dragon fruit and other food in different parts of the country including Lakshmipur.
The meeting emphasized the need for more innovations to sustain this success in agricultural sector.
