World Food Day celebrated at CVASU

Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) celebrated World Food Day 2022 today Sunday through various events.

The theme of this year's World Food Day is 'Leaving No One Behind, Better Production Better Nutrition, Safer Environment and Better Lives'.

Programs organized by CVASU Faculty of Food Science and Technology to mark the day included a colourful procession, food festival, discussions, flash mob and dean's award to meritorious students.

Teachers, officers, students and staff participated in the colourful procession taken out in the morning in the university campus.  After the inauguration of the day-long food festival, the World Food Day panel discussion and Dean's Award ceremony were held at CVASU Auditorium.  CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Gautam Buddha Das was present as the Chief Patron.  Bangladesh Council of Science and Industrial Research (BCSIR), Dhaka director Md. Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan was present as the chief guest.  The special guest was the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Professor Dr. Mohammad Alamgir Hossain.  

Dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraf Ali Biswas presided over the event.  The main article was presented by Shireen Akhtar, Associate Professor of Food Processing and Engineering Department.

 This time three meritorious students of the 8th batch of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology were given the prestigious Dean's Award.  The students who got Dean's Award are – Mehrun Nessa Tuhin (1st place), Arpita Chowdhury (2nd place), Afra Annan (3rd place).

 Flash Mob was held after the discussion and Deans Award.
