The World Consumer Rights Day was observed in Meherpur. Different programmes including rally and discussion were arranged in Meherpur on the occasion.
This discussion was held in the conference room of the District Commissioner on the initiative of Meherpur District Administration on Friday morning.
Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Md Shamim Hasan and moderated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Ahmed Rumon, Additional Superintendent of Police (Circle) Md Abdul Karim, Medical Officer of Meherpur Civil Surgeon Office Dr. Inzamamul Haque, Meherpur TTC Korean cooking instructor Safiqul Islam, Meherpur Sadar Upazila Sanitary Inspector Tariqul Islam, Hotel businessman Md. Zia.
Meanwhile, earlier a rally was brought out on the occasion of World Consumer Day. Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Md Shamim Hasan, the rally started from the District Commissioner's office square and went around the main road and ended at the same place.
Madaripur Correspondent says: The World Consumer Rights Day was observed in Dasar Upazila of Madaripur like other parts of the country. Dasar Upazila Administration brought out a rally from Upazila premises marking the day. The rally paraded in the main roads of the city and ended in the Upazila Chattar.
A discussion was held at Dasar Upazila Hall Room. Dasar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (land) Saiduzzaman Himu presided over the meeting.
Sayeda Ishrat Imam, Headmistress of Sonamandi High School and Moinul Islam, Office Assistant took part in the discussion.
BSS from Gaibandha adds: The World Consumer Rights Day was celebrated in the district as elsewhere in the country and the globe with a call to protect consumers' rights anyhow everywhere.
This year's theme of the day was 'Smart Bangladesh Gori, Voktar Sarthey Krittim Buddhimotta Bebohar Kori'. Marking the day, district administration and Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection jointly chalked out elaborate programmes.
In the morning around 10am, a discussion was held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) here with assistant director of the directorate Afsana Parvin in the chair.
Additional district magistrate (ADM) Md. Mashiur Rahman addressed it as the chief guest on behalf of DC Kazi Nahid Rasul and additional police super Abdullah Al Mamun spoke it as the special guest.
