A workshop on Vitamin-A plus Campaign with Chuadanga District Journalists was held at Civil Surgeon Conference Room under the auspices of Chuadanga Health Department on Thursday.
AFM MarufHasan, Civil Surgeon, inaugurated and conducted the season. On the other hand Dr. Awliar Rahman, Medical Officer of Civil Surgeon Office, presented the key note paper through multimedia.
ASM Maruf Hasan, Civil Surgeon said a total of 16,054 children aged 1-11 months and 1,20,971 children aged 1-5 years are in the district. All children will be fed vitamin A capsule from June 5 to 19. In this regards to complete the program 906 centers have been set up at different points of the district.
About 2100 health assistants, family planning assistants and volunteers have been appointed for work at the program. Besides 118 officers will be monitoring during campaign. Mr. Maruf, CS, also stated that Blue color vitamin A capsule for 1-11 months aged children and Red color vitamin A capsule for 1-5 years children will be administered at the centers.
He said the capsules prevent malnutrition, under growth, diarhoea 0f the children.
Civil Surgeon again said health rules will be followed in the centers for prevention of COVID-19. He urged upon all to cooperate for successful completion of the campaign.
