Prime Mover Trailer Workers Union in Chattogram is on strike with a five points demand on Saturday morning.
Due to this, all types of container transport are closed in Chittagong port and other cities.
The five-point demands includes issuance of employment letters to workers, implementation of minimum government wage as per labor law, refund of illegally deducted money by BSRM authorities, cessation of work without any notice and reinstatement of 23 prime mover trailer drivers laid off by BSRM.
Meanwhile, import-export containers have not been transported since Saturday morning due to the strike.
On the one hand, container delivery of imported goods from Chittagong port has been stopped, just as containers of exported goods are not being sent to the port from off-dock for shipping.
