Work unitedly to face any crisis of the nation: IGP

Inspector General of Bangladesh Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on Tuesday called upon the promoted Additional IGPs to work unitedly to face any crisis of the nation.

The IGP made the call while addressing the rank badge-adorned ceremony of the senior officers who have been promoted to the post of additional IGPs from the DIGs at the Hall of Pride of the Police Headquarters.

Bangladesh Police Women Welfare Association (PUNAK) president Dr Tayyaba Musarrat Chowdhury attended the programme as the special guest. The newly promoted additional IGPs and their spouses were also present on the occasion.

As per the custom of Bangladesh Police, the promoted additional IGPs are adorned the rank badges by the IGP and the spouses of the promoted officers.

IGP said the police formed the first armed resistance against the Pakistani occupational forces in response to the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh Police successfully combated militancy and terrorism. 

Police is now capable of facing any challenges related to law and order in the future as well, the police chief vowed. Congratulating the promoted officers, he said, this promotion is recognition of your efficiency.

The promoted officers expressed their commitment to provide maximum service to the people upholding the spirit of liberation war.

The government recently promoted 14 officers of Bangladesh Police to the post of Additional IGPs.
