An exceptional market for women is launching named ‘Koinya’ in Moulvibazar. All the vendors of this market are local women entrepreneurs. The market will be set up at the Chandnighat Union Parishad premises in the district headquarters at the initiative of Sadar Upazila Administration. The market will be inaugurated on March 8, Women's Day. The market will sit two days a week.
In order to restore the well-being of the family, a woman does many kinds of work in her spare time as well as daily chores of the family. Some raise cows, some raise poultry and cultivate vegetables. Some people make delicious cakes. Someone sews dress, blocks, batik or brushes to make the clothes more beautiful.
Their leisure activities have been praised by many as well as family members, relatives and neighbors. This time the initiative has been taken to highlight their work on a large scale and to achieve economic empowerment of women.
The women's market 'Koinya' will sit with the various products produced and manufactured by the women. The sellers in this market are women only but everyone can buy.
Akhtar Uddin, chairman of Chandnighat Union Parishad, said, "This is the first market/haat in my union in the district to promote women." Initially, fifty women will sell their products at this market. That number will be further increased as per the demand. In the first case, it was decided to operate the market two days a week.
Afsana Akhter, a resident of Chandnighat Union, said, "I sell block and batik cloths." Many people like me can easily sell their products through this market. '
Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ujjal, a small entrepreneur organizer, said such an exceptional market deserves praise. The establishment of this haat will increase the enthusiasm of women entrepreneurs. At the same time women will be self-reliant.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabrina Rahman Badhan said the Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila administration has taken this initiative to highlight the contribution of women in the society to a large extent and to advance women. The market will feature a variety of products and food items made or produced by the women themselves. This is a new initiative across the country. This is the first haat in Sadar upazila at the district level.
For this exceptional market, various paintings have been painted on the walls of Chandnighat Union Parishad. Nari Haat premises are being beautified.
