Women entrepreneurs fair ends in Chuadanga

A two-day long `Women Entrepreneurs Fair-2024’ under the project of Promotion of Women Entrepreneurs for Economic Empowerment at Grass Roots Level of Jatiya Mahila Sangstha of Women Affairs Department concluded at Town Football Maidan in Chuadanga District Town on Sunday. 

According to sources, about 200 women entrepreneurs engaged themselves in 5 categories like garments, catteries, embriodaries of production for economic empowerment. They are now supporting and bearing families expenditures through their productivity activities. 

The women entrepreneurs have changed their wheels of luck through economic empowerment and risen their status and positions not only in families but also in society. 

The fair was arranged under the project of `Promotion of Women’s Entrepreneurs for Economic Empowerment at Grass Root Level,’ of Chuadanga Sadar. 

A total of 51 stalls has been set up at the fair. Over 2000 women have been given training on five categories. Among them, 200 women entrepreneurs are in the district. They have proved themselves to the society as economic empowerment.  

The fair was inaugurated on March 9 by Riajul Islam Toton, vice-chairman, Trustee Board of First Capital University. Maksura Jannat, Deputy Director of Women Affairs Department spoke as chief speaker. 

Rajib Hasan Koch, president of Chuadanga Press Club, Alaudin Hela, president of Chuadanga Pouro Awami League, Abdul Kader, General Secretary of Poura Awami League, Sahajadi Mili, vice chairman of sadar upazila parishad and Arefin Ronju, former convener of Awami-Jubo League district unit attended as special guests.  The inaugural function was presided over by Nabila Rokhsana, chairman of Jatioya Mohila Sangstha. 

On the concluding day (March 10), a discussion meeting was held with Dr Kissinger Chakma, Deputy Commissioner (DC), in the chair. Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selun, MP,was present as the chief guest. RM Foyjur Rahman, superintendent of police (SP) and Jahangir Alam Malik Khokon, Mayor of Chuadanga pourasabha were present as special gusts. 

Provash Chandra Roy, Additional Secretary and Project Director of the project, spoke as the chief speaker. Nabila Rokhsana, Chairman of Jatioya Mohila Sangstha and Maksura Jannat, Deputy Director of Women Affairs Department addressed on the concluding function.
