Police on Wednesday arrested a youth for allegedly raping a woman for several times in Jashore. The arrestee is Shamim Hossain, 24, son of Anwar Hossain of Barandipara Bou Bazar area of Jashore town.
The victim, a resident of Dinajpur district, filed a case with Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station on October 27 night.
According to the case statement, the woman came from Dinajpur to visit her girlfriend Mariyam's house in Barandipara Bou Bazar area of Jashore town on October 25.
She was introduced to her girlfriend Mariyam's cousin Manik Hossain. At the first meet, Manik continuously seduce her with the temptation of marriage. At one stage Monik offered to marry her. The next day, at 6:30 pm on October 26, Manik and his parents took her to an office in Jashore town and she signed a paper. Manik raped her more than once the next day. He said that he would not marry her.
Detained Manik confessed to the police during interrogation. Moniruzaman, OC of Jashore Kotwali police station said that the victim was sent to Jashore General Hospital for test.
