Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a woman, who was allegedly strangled to death at Kotbari area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital.
"We've sent the body to Shahid Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, and operation ongoing yo track down the culprit", Kamal Hossain, Inspector, Savar model police station said confirming the matter.
"As far as I know, the deceased's name is Parul, 40, but we did not get her detailed identity", Kamal added.
Locals said, the woman along with a man were renting a room at a house owned by Abdul Gofur alias Babul at Kotbari area, and just got up there just yesterday. Afterwards, on Wednesday morning she was found dead in the room, and since then the man, who was with the woman, went missing.
"Police suspecting that she might have been strangled to death in early night", police sources said.
Kamal, the inspector however said, they informed deceased's family, and a case would be filed with Savar model police station regarding the matter. Adding that, police working to identify and arrest the involved.
