A mentally deranged woman found dead inside an abandoned room at Barobariya area of Dhamrai in Dhaka district on Saturday noon.
Abul Khayer, a sub-inspector (SI) of Dhamrai police station, confirmed the matter. He said, “We recovered decomposed body of the woman from an abandoned room next to a local market, and sent it to Shahid Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the capital for autopsy.”
The deceased was identified as Amena Begum, 45, wife of Helal Hossain of Kawakhola village at Dhamrai.
Helal Hossain said that Amena had no contact with family as she moves to elsewhere off and on due to mentally disorder. Lastly, she left house at two to three months ago, and finally they got news of her death, he added.
Quoting locals, SI Abul Khayer said that locals are noticed stench from the abandoned room and informed police. Later, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. In addition, a case has been filed with Dhamrai police station in this regard.
