A woman was killed in a lightning strike at Dhulauri in Santhia upazila of Pabna on Friday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Rubia Khatun, 40, wife of Afsar Ali Khan of Dhulauri village.
Dhulauri UP chairman Zarif Ahmed said Rubia went to pick chilies in a chili field next to her house when heavy rains had already started.
Rubia died on the spot due to the lightning strike. He was accompanied by another who is in critical condition.
