Some unknown miscreants killed a woman by slitting her throat in Chuadanga sadar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Anjali Rani Biswas, 55, wife of Ganesh Paramanik, resident of Daulatdiar village in Chuadanga Sadar upazila.
Police and locals said the husband and wife lived alone in their house. The husband left for work on Sunday morning and the wife was alone at home. At some point in the day, a relative came and called her, but did not get any response. Later, the relative saw the dead body Anjali Rani, whose throat was cut, through the window.
Initially, the police suspected that someone from outside entered the house with the intention of robbery. At that time, the housewife was in the bathroom. Later, when she entered the room, she was murdered by the miscreants. Relatives claimed that a lot of money and gold were looted from the house.
Chuadanga Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Anisuzzaman said the investigation is going on keeping several issues in front. Soon the mystery of the incident will be revealed and the real criminals will be brought under the law.
