Members of Chuadanga BGB Battalion-6 detained one woman with 11 pieces of gold bar (320 grams) worth about Tk1.30cr from village Chhaighoria in Darshana thana of Chuadanga district on Sunday.
The detained woman was identified as Toslima Khatun, daughter of Rezaul Karimm of village Kamarpara in Darshana thana of Chuadanga district.
According to press release singed by Lt. Col. Sayeed Mohammad Zahidur Rahman, Commanding Officer of Chuadanga BGB Battalion-6, on information a team of Sultanpur BOP camp raided at the area. When an easy bike was going to Indian border area with passengers, the BGB members intercepted the easy bike, began to search the bags and bodies of the passengers.
, at the time the woman passenger dropped the gold bars on ground from her waist.
The recovered gold bars was submitted to Chuadanga Treasury. The detained woman was handed over to Darshana Thana. A case was filed with Darshana Police Station in the connection.
