RAB has arrested a woman member of a smuggling ring with 2 kg 510 grams of opium from Rowangchari in Bandarban.

Arrested Redama Marma (48) wife of deceased Thoaichimong Marma of Rowangchari Angpara area of Bandarban.
Senior Assistant Director. Abu Salam Chowdhury said that according to secret sources, some drug dealers with a large consignment of opium are staying at Rowangchari in Bandarban for buying and selling. On that news, RAB-15 raided the area on Sunday afternoon and arrested Redama Marma. Later, 2 kg 510 grams of opium was recovered from a shopping bag in his hand.
It is said; The estimated value of recovered illegal opium is around Tk 2 crore 50 lakh.
This RAB official said that the arrested Redama Marma is known as a known drug dealer. He has long been involved in opium peddling and drug smuggling based in the hill Bandarban. Legal action is pending against him.
