An accused of his wife’s murder confessed to court about his involvement and others on Wednesday. Senior Judicial Magistrate Kawsar Alam recorded the accused Mizanur Rahman Mozumdar’s statement under code of criminal procedure 164.

According to the court Inspector of Narayanganj it is learned that the accused stated that his wife Sultana Begum had developed extra-marital affair with a man.

He repeatedly told her to stop the illicit activities but she didn’t pay any heed upon his word. As a result conjugal disputes have been prevailing between them for long.

Sultana Begum, 42, wife of Miznur Rahman Mozumdar was killed being hit by a hail-stone by her husband at a rented house at Geddarbazar area under Fatulla police station in the district on Tuesday night.

A murder case was filled by Sultana’s brother Shafiqul Islam with Fatulla police station accusing Mizanur Rahman Mozumdar later.

The Inspector (investigation) of Fatulla police station Shahadat Hossain told the Bangladesh Post that after receiving accused Mizanur's confessional statement they will investigate into the matter.
