Police recovered the body of a widow from a paddy field in Ghugrapara village of Kalerpara union in Dhunat upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hasila Khatun, 45, daughter of Shukra Mandal of Ghugrapara village. Hasila has been living in her father's house since the death of her husband.
Dhunat police station Inspector (investigation) Kamruzzaman Mia said Hasila was a beggar. Hasila left the house on Monday morning. In the evening she went to her sister's house, from there she left for home at around 8 pm but did not return home.
When went to work on the land on Tuesday morning a farmer finding her body informed the police. Upon receiving the news, police recovered the body and sent it to Bogura SZMC Hospital. She is thought to have been strangled to death.
Hashim Ali, son of the deceased Hasila, said that he lives in another village. In the morning, he received news that his mother's body had been found in a paddy field.
