Nine Christian couples begin conjugal life from a Thakurgaon church

A total of nine marriages took place at Ruhia Catholic Church in Thakurgaon on Friday morning on the occasion of Christmas Day.The nine Christian couples were married following rituals and custom of Christian religion. Father Anthony Sen, priest of Ruhia Catholic Church, conducted the marriage ceremony by exchanging rings and wreaths among the couples. 

Among these nine couples, Jibon Sebastian Das of Dholarhat area was married to Manosi Monica Das of Radhanagar village and Rafael Das of Ruhia Madhupur village was married to Brishty Augustina Das of Molankhuri village.

The couples along with their family members reached the church by minibus, microbus or auto rickshaw for the marriage ceremony amid festivity. After performing catholic rituals their marriage were legally registered. A delightful environment was prevailing in the church on this occasion. 

The tradition of marriage in Christian religion has been continuing for decades. Sister Jennie Evans married her shoemaker love Richard Vanson on December 25 in 1890 at St. Saviour’s Church in Southwark.
