Webinar series over Covid-19 begins

A series of webinars on social impact and challenges of COVID 19 titled ‘How is Bangladesh Confronting the Pandemic-COVID 19?’ has been started from Satutday.

Micro governance Research Initiative and the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Dhaka are coordinating the webinar series with the support from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and UKAID.

Renowned academicians and researchers including Vasu Mohan of IFES Asia Pacific, IFES Country Director Silja Paasilinna, Dr ASM Alamgir of IEDCR, Professor Dr Elora Halim Chowdhury  of UMASS Boston, Professor Dr Delwar Hossain of Dhaka  University, Dr Salima Lutfa of Dhaka University along with others are conducting the webinar series.

A total of 10 sessions will be conducted from May 16 to May 27 where around 120 participants from different universities, institutions, NGOs and SAVE youth are taking part through ‘ZOOM’, said Aynul Islam, Associate Professor of DU Political Science department and coordinator of the conference. 

It is to be noted that the webinar series aim to empower community people and build social resilience to counter COVID 19’s invisible challenges. 

The programme create a virtual platform for youth, experts and stakeholders by which they will share knowledge and best practices. The i-Conferencing also helps youth capacity building and promoting their proactive role against COVID-19 misinformation.
