Wearing mask mandatory to enter Ctg city

Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has decided to not allow anyone to enter the city without wearing a mask, effective from Wednesday, to combat the second wave of epidemic corona virus.

Special teams will be deployed at five spots including the main entry point of the port city to enforce the decision.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the administrator's office at the CCC Tigerpass temporary office on Monday. CCC officials said two separate CCC teams would be on the field work to second wave of corona virus. A team of CCCs will work on the main entrances, including 5 spots in the city.

These five spots are: Cement Crossing Oxygen, City Gate, Kaptai Road Head, Oxygen Junction and Shah Amanat Bridge. The other team will work to ensure wearing masks in various market areas across the city.

The CCC would be assisted by members of the Chittagong City Unit of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and members of the Karnafhuli Regiment of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), said a CCC statement. CCC Administrator Khorshed Alam Sujan, CCC Chief Executive Officer Kazi Muhammad Mozammel Haque, Acting Health Officer Md Ali, Administrator's Private Secretary Abul Hashem, BNCC's Karnafuli Regiment Commander Major AKM Shamsuddin, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chittagong City Unit General Secretary Abdul Jabbar were present at this meeting. CCC Administrator said the number of Covid-19 cases is on the rise in the country. Until the vaccine arrives, there is no alternative to wearing mask while going out, he added.
