Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan assumed charge as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chattogram District last Sunday, previously serving in Cumilla. Known for his efficiency, discipline, and modern outlook, he visited Chattogram District Police Lines on Monday, receiving a guard of honor.
He inspected key offices and units, including barracks, armory, civic center, and MT, reviewing discipline, work plans, public service, and administrative management. He exchanged views with officers, inquiring about their welfare, training, responsibilities, and work environment.
During a meeting with officers, SP Nazir emphasized honesty, professionalism, humanity, and patriotism as core principles. He said, “Ensuring the safety of the people is our commitment, and service is our religion. With joint efforts, we will build a safe, peaceful, modern, and citizen-friendly Chattogram.”
He outlined plans to enhance technology-based policing, suppress crime, strengthen anti-drug and illegal weapons operations, improve traffic management, and ensure welfare and training for police members. Ahead of the National Assembly elections, he instructed heightened security, active patrols, intelligence collection, and strict surveillance to prevent violence or malfeasance.
SP Nazir expressed confidence that Chattogram District Police will perform duties professionally, aiming for a more disciplined, smart, and people-friendly policing model. Senior officials and branch in-charges attended the inspection.
