The Tigers’ captain Tamim Iqbal said on Saturday that Tigers need to work harder to beat England.
“Last time I lost to England. I lost again. May be we need to work harder to beat England and we have to realize why England is the world champion,” Tamim said when talking to the reporter in the post-match press meet on Friday after a huge defeat in the second ODI to England.
Tamim admitted his team’s performance was not up to the mark in both bowling and batting, which led to the eventual loss in the second ODI of the three-match series.
It was a bitter experience for Tamim Iqbal. The ODI captain of Bangladesh could not expect such a humiliation and looked a bit uncomfortable when explained the reason of series loss while sitting in the press conference room at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Under his leadership, Bangladesh team won all the series at home. South Africa and West Indies have also lost on their home soil. But when the opponent is England, the story turns different. Whatever the conditions, they are now the kings of white-ball cricket.
The last time Bangladesh lost an ODI series at home in 2016 against England. This time there was a chance to beat the world champions at home. But after losing the first two matches of three-match series and lost the series.
