We applaud the government’s initiative to launch a nationwide crackdown on fascist elements to foil their any evil attempt to destabilise the country. The Special Branch of police issued an alert to police units across the country on Monday, warning of potential attempts by fascist elements to disturb law and order ahead of the next national elections.
The people of Bangladesh want to live in peace. And it is the government’s responsibility to ensure their security. Those, who seek to reintroduce fascism in the country, must be dealt with iron hand and we must stand against their attempt to re-enter our political or social landscape.
The fall of Sheikh Hasina’s authoritarian regime on 5 August 2024 marked the end of a dark chapter in the country’s history. If there is any attempt to bring back fascist regime, the nation must be ready to resist such attempt. We all must stay alert to fascism in any form.
Resisting activities of fascist elements is our top national priority. There should be be no compromise with it. The government must adopt a zero tolerance policy against them. All must be committed to rooting out fascism from our soil.

Sensing a deep-rooted conspiracy, law enforcement agencies have launched crackdown across the country on 30 July, which will continue till August 8. The special drive has been when the nation is commemorating the July Uprising. The government, different political parties and civil society groups are observing July Uprising through various programmes highting the the triumph of mass resistance over tyranny.
Intelligence sources warn that fascist forces may try to to exploit this period by obstructing anti-fascist activities, and provoking unrest both online and offline. We think that a unified front is crucial to foiling any conspiracy to destabilise the country. We should keep in mind that national unity is our strongest defence against fascism.
The July Uprising was a people’s movement against a fascist government. It was a collective response to years of repression, enforced disappearances, political killings, vote rigging, looting of national resources and the misuse of state institutions. The movement culminated in the ousting of the Awami League's authoritarian rule.
July Uprising is of great importance in the history of our country. The sacrifices of students, youth and ordinary people opened a new chapter of hope and opportunity for the nation. Their strong protests, graffiti drawn on the walls across the capital and slogans still echo in our memory.
Law enforcement agencies must remain steadfast in foiling any conspiracy to destabilise the country. At the same time, we have to get united to resist activities of fascist eliments and also to fight corruption in the greater interest of the country.
We all should pay utmost respects to the martyrs of the July Uprising by working together to safeguard democracy, and build a peaceful, inclusive Bangladesh, for all regardless of caste, creed and belief.
