Barrister Nazibur Rahman Momen, the eldest son of former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh and former Minister Maolana Motiur Rahman Nizami, said we do not believe in the politics of vengeance. The death of martyr Nizami will be retaliated by establishing Islam in the country.
He came up with the assertion at a meeting in Santhia upazila of Pabna on Saturday. Before the meeting, he visited his father’s grave at Monmothpur graveyard in Santhia on Saturday, the day after he returned from London.
Barrister Momen went to Baghabari intersection in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj at around 11:00am on Saturday. Leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami greeted him with a large procession there. After concluding a street meeting at the C&B intersection in Bera upazila, he visited his father's grave at around 1:00pm.
He delivered a short speech at the meeting of Santhia in the district. At the beginning of his speech, he expressed his gratefulness to Allah and thanked the students and people for the fall of fascism. He also said Hasina and her accomplices killed Maolana Nizami through the most heinous lies of the century to establish fascism. He said we do not believe in vengeance. We believe in justice.
The responsibility is on the government to bring those who committed crimes to justice. We will hope that the government will ensure justice. No government is the final government and no judgment is the final judgment. As Muslims, we believe in the day of judgment of the life after death. Even if the criminals are not brought under justice in this world, none will be able to escape from Allah.
He said the value of one drop of blood of a martyr is much higher than the murderer fascist and her accomplices. This bloodshed will be retaliated by establishing the ‘Deen’ of Allah on His earth.
He also said Santhia is my home. I was not allowed to return to the country for the last eight years just because I am the son of martyr Nizami. I was not allowed to visit and pray at my father’s grave. He concluded his speech by urging everyone to take part in the battle to build a public welfare-oriented Islamic country which was the dream of martyr Nizami.
Santhia upazila Jamaat Ameer Mokhlesur Rahmand presided over the meeting. Upzila Jamaat Secretary moderated it. Pabna district Jamaat Ameer Professor Abu Taleb Mondol, former district Ameer Abdur Rahim, Central Shura Member of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Abdul Baset Khan, Pabna district Jamaat assistant secretary Abu Saleh Md Abdullah and others spoke at that time.
Santhia upazila Jamaat Ameer and former Upazila Chairman Mokhlesur Rahman said Hasina government hanged former Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami with false case. His son Nazibur Rahman Momen has come to Pabna today. He visited his father’s grave. People of Pabna showered him with their affection.
It was learnt that, Barrister Nazibur Rahman Momen reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from London on Friday. Leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami welcomed him there. A procession under the banner of municipality Jamaat was brought out in Santhia on Friday evening on the occasion of his arrival.
